We are living in strange times, and we count ourselves fortunate to be able to continue communicating with friends and family, even if we can't give them a physical hug.
We're not booking any physical fayres at the moment, but we hope to be back out 'on the road' before Christmas. Here's a lovely multi-colour SunCatcher in the shape of a hot-air balloon.
This has a clear glass base shaped like the balloon. Each of the main panels of the balloon is then cut to shape by hand, and test fitted to see that all is well. The basket is then cut and fitted. Small glass granules, known as Frit, is used to fill the gaps between the pieces, and highlight the seams of the balloon. It's all fired to over 800 C and then drilled to accept a hanging chain.
